Abstract
⺠Reduced speed limits during winter have been introduced on major arterial roads in the city of Oslo. ⺠The speed limits are intended to reduce pollution. ⺠An evaluation of their effects on safety is reported. ⺠The number of accidents is found to be reduced by about 25-30%.
