Abstract
⺠Validity and reliability of the Nursing Home Survey of Patient Safety Culture were tested in Swiss nursing homes. ⺠The wording of the NHSPSC was changed to address the unit as well as facility level in nursing homes. ⺠Multilevel exploratory factor analysis differentiates unit- and facility-level safety climate. ⺠The Swiss factor solution at unit level has only nine factors as compared to the original NHSPSC with 12 factors. ⺠For its use in Swiss nursing home units, the instrument needs further refinement.
