Abstract
► We examine the manoeuvring performance of the modified LNG tanker hull form. ► Both the ship hydrodynamic coefficients and the ship-bank interaction were measured. ► They were used in the mathematical model with the ship steering autopilot. ► Increasing the area of two pairs of fins improved the ship directional stability. ► Increasing the area of rudder remedied for the ship manoeuvring in restricted water.
