Abstract
⺠Recent results on the surface characteristics of layered silicates are reviewed. ⺠The charging behavior of the talc and muscovite edge surfaces is discussed. ⺠Surface potentials of the kaolinite silica face and the alumina face are presented. ⺠Hydrophobicity for the kaolinite silica face is demonstrated from AFM results.
