Abstract
- Corrosion products and pH changes are key factors in degradable stents evaluation.
- We simulated the changes that occur in vivo at the Fe/cells interface.
- Lipid peroxidation and decrease in mitochondrial activity were detected.
- The amount of insoluble products depends on the Fe/protein concentration ratio.
- Insoluble products seem to be linked to cell damage.
