Abstract
- Silicone oils facilitate HSA denaturation in aqueous solutions.
- Low molecular weight silicones are particularly effective at facilitating protein denaturation and aggregation.
- Silicone surfactants facilitate emulsification, but not denaturation.
- The presence of small quantities of low molecular weight silicones in certain lots of silicone oil syringe lubricants may lead to the formation of veils in the syringe.
