Abstract
- QA-PDEAEM polymers modifications and quaternarization degree improvement with different methods are described and compared.
- QA-PDEAEM polymers and for first time reported NPs, were prepared from monomer quaternaization, followed by vinyl radical polymerization.
- Coatings based QA-PDEAEM copolymers and NPs of 50-70Â nm embedded in PEVA coatings prepared and tested.
- Developed coatings exhibited strong antibacterial activity against four representative Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
- This study highlights potential application of antimicrobial QA-PDEAEM copolymers and NPs.
