Abstract
- The presence of a functionalized calixarene in calf thymus DNA solutions induces a condensation of the polynucleotide.
- The suitable functionalization of the ligand plays a main role in the condensation process of DNA.
- The breaking of the condensation happens for the higher [calixarene]/[DNA] values.
- The interaction of a ligand with DNA by a groove mode can induce partial denaturation of the polynucleotide.
