Abstract
- There is evidence on the interactions between anionic liposomes and lipoproteins.
- Empty cholesterol-free anionic nanoliposomes were prepared.
- Fluorescently labeled anionic nanoliposomes were efficiently taken up by macrophages.
- Anionic nanoliposomes significantly lowered serum LDL-C, triglycerides and apoB, and elevated HDL-C concentrations in hyperlipidemic mice.
- Anionic nanoliposomes might serve as safe, effective, rapid-acting, inexpensive, anti-dyslipidemic agents.
