Abstract
Biofunctionalization of conventional materials will introduce revolutionary changes in classical healthcare and drastically improve the quality of life of patients. The hemocompatibility of the modified cellulosic paper surfaces was improved via surface-initiated ATRP of zwitterionic polymers, and evaluated by professional blood testing in vitro. The blood compatibility improvement is dependent on the coverage of the grafted P(DMAPS) grafting layer on the cellulosic paper film.
