Abstract
- A novel hydrophobic, biodegradable and biocompatible poly(ortho ester) copolymer was synthesized to prepare celecoxib-loaded nanoparticles for intraocular therapy.
- Celecoxib-loaded poly(ortho ester) nanoparticles were prepared using a double emulsion solvent diffusion method.
- Stable and transparent emulsions were achieved with efficient encapsulation efficiencies.
- Poly(ortho ester) nanoparticles can efficiently deliver therapeutics for prolonged periods of time, with desirable properties such as smaller size, high encapsulation efficiency, zero-order release profiles and cytocompatibility.
