Abstract
- Ag/PDDA-diatomite nanocomposites with high amount of silver were prepared.
- Strong binding of silver NPs on the diatomite surface due to the strong electrostatic interaction.
- Minimal release of silver from the nanocomposites into aqueous environment.
- Strong bactericidal and fungicidal activities against broad spectrum of bacteria and yeasts.
