Abstract
- PVA microbubbles are coated with chitosan-galactosylated (GC) to target hepatocarcinoma.
- GC confer specificity for asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR).
- GC-microbubbles show bioadhesive properties/selectivity for tumor cells expressing ASGPR.
- Doxorubicin-loaded particles display higher cytotoxic activity than the free drug.
- Cytotoxicity of GC-microbubbles /doxorubicin is increased upon exposure to ultrasound.
