Abstract
The polyimide (PI)-based microcomposites reinforced with carbon sphere were synthesized by situ polymerization using 4,4â²-oxydianilline (ODA), carbon sphere and pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA). The tribological properties of PI/carbon sphere microcomposite films were measured under dry friction, pure water lubrication and seawater lubrication condition. It is expected that this study can provide some valuable information to utilize the polymer composites in seawater circumstances.102
