Abstract
⺠By integrating a hip simulator, tribocorrosion behaviour of hip components can be assessed. ⺠Mechanical wear of hip implants can be accelerated by electrochemical corrosion, vice versa. ⺠The reduction of metallic ions and total material loss can be attributed to a tribofilm formation.
