Abstract
⺠The nanostructure of Cu-Al2O3 powders is retained after PECS processing. ⺠Microstructural basis for the strengthening mechanisms is provided. ⺠Coefficient of friction is equal for coarse grained Cu and nanostructured Cu-Al2O3. ⺠Wear depth of Cu-Al2O3 is lesser than half that of Cu due to stable microstructure. ⺠Mild oxidative wear and delamination wear are the main operative mechanisms.
