Abstract
⺠Wear of a complex high alloy hardfacing and a WC-Ni metal matrix composite. ⺠Dry sand rubber wheel test and pin-on-plate wear tests were used in evaluation. ⺠Lower wear rate for SHS9290 alloy than WC-Ni MMC (silica and garnet abrasives). ⺠For alumina abrasive, a higher wear rate of the SHS9290 alloy than the WC-Ni MMC. ⺠SHS9290 alloy has shown optimal properties for digging picks.
