Abstract
⺠A multiscale wear model is applied to the sliding wear of engineering ceramics. ⺠A Monte Carlo simulation over 5 parameters of asperity interaction is employed. ⺠An asperity wear mapping based on numerical simulations is used. ⺠Multivariate asperity samples are extracted from profiles with a novel technique. ⺠The model results are compared to wear tests for Si3N4, WC-Co and ZrO2.
