Abstract
⺠nc-TiAlN/a-SiNx nanocomposite coatings shows a promising cutting performance. ⺠Self hardening process occurs during the turning tests. ⺠Spinodal segregation of the nanostructure nc-Ti1âxAlx/a-SiNx, occurs with temperature. ⺠Wear resistance is improved due the formation of an Al2O3 layer.
