Abstract
⺠Tool wear response shows two distinct contact zones over the die radius. ⺠Contact zones correlate well with predicted steady-state and transient-only regions. ⺠Galling occurs at 10-75 degrees on die radius and is critical to overall wear response. ⺠Transient stage is critical to the overall tool wear response and tool life.
