Abstract
âºElectrocoagulation removal of hexavalent chromium has quick start-up time with negligible sludge generation in comparison to prevalent chemical precipitation technology. Also, this technology has small footprint at industrial scale. âºExcellent process conditions were achieved for voltage and treatment time at minimal energy. Response surface methodology (RSM) was proved very effective in achieving optimized process conditions in just 13 experimental runs. âºModel statistics are discussed in detail including diagnostic plots for each response. RSM predictions are validated through artificial neural network approach.
