Abstract
In order to save energy consumption of reverse osmosis (RO) process, YxSi1-xO2-SO3H (YSS) particles were synthesized and then employed as a functional layer on phosphorylated YxSi1-xO2/Al2O3 (PYSA) to form YSS self-assembled membrane via layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. The YSS self-assembled membrane performs attractive partial desalination and deep cleaning properties of oily seawater, thus the seawater after treatment could be used for RO process, saving energy consumption of desalination plants. Further research shows that YSS self-assembled membrane can be recycled and the recycled membrane still performs the function to partially desalinate and clean oily seawater. Therefore, YSS self-assembled membrane with partial desalination property is promising for oily seawater treatment.232
