Abstract
⸠We have synthesized nano-sized zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF-8) and prepared homogeneous PBI/ZIF-8 MMMs for pervaporation dehydration of alcohols. ⸠Water permeability of PBI/ZIF-8 MMMs is one order higher than the PBI membrane. ⸠Selectivity of PBI/ZIF-8 MMMs with loadings up to 33.7 wt% is comparable to PBI membrane. ⸠PBI/ZIF-8 MMMs show effectiveness in suppressing swelling on the polymeric matrix.
