Abstract
► The MTB had a lower cost but a higher accuracy than the conventional biodosimetry. ► The lamp output was monitored by a micro-fluorescent silica detector. ► The lamp output was accurately tuned by using an adjustable ballast. ► The viable number of challenge microorganism was greatly reduced. ► The dependence of fluence on water temperature was readily determined.
