Abstract
⺠Explicits reasons appealing for more research devoted to physico-chemical hazards evaluation of ionic liquids. ⺠Sorts out myths from reality with physico-chemical hazards of ionic liquids. ⺠Provides early findings regarding heats of combustion of ionic liquids by predictive models. ⺠Provides heat release of imidazolium-based ionic liquids by use of pyrolysis combustion flow calorimetry (PCFC). ⺠Gives first indications on how physico-chemical safety performance can be addressed as soon as design stage of ILs.
