Abstract
This paper presents a model of a HV (High Voltage) three shielded single-core cables installed in a trefoil configuration and solid-bonding grounding. This model is based on the distributed parameters theory. It is applied to the connection between the 150Â kV substations of Tyna, Taparoura and Sidimansour, three urban zones located in Sfax a coastal city of Tunisia. The resulting model is implemented in a computer code in the Matlab environment. To validate this model, it is represented by block diagram in the Simulink-SimPowerSystems environment where the cable is modeled by several sections Pi. Studying the two situations (no-load test and load test), the proposed model is validated in normal state by comparing the results obtained numerically (by the computer code and block diagram) along the cable and with some recoded real measurements available in sending-end (Tyna substation). The results comparison shows a good agreement and confirms the exactness and the robustness of the proposed model. Finally, some insulation default cases are modeled and analyzed.
