Abstract
An axisymmetric stagnation flow impinges on a moving plate with different slip coefficients in two orthogonal directions. Such anisotropic slip occurs on geometrically striated surfaces and superhydrophobic strips. A similarity transformation reduces the Navier-Stokes equations to a set of 10th order nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The problem is solved by asymptotic analysis for large slip and numerical integration. Anisotropy is reflected in the differences of slip velocities in the two directions, and may be considerable.
