Abstract
Last winters’ polar vortex brought to light a potentially significant reliability issue in the PJM Interconnection. PJM is now in the process of redefining its approach. Potential consequences include a reduction in demand response; elimination of the positive compensation rate; and changed demand response participation methodologies. Among alternatives available to customers to minimize their electric bill is a new service from Viridity Energy.
