Abstract
⸠The heterogeneous epoxy/amine reaction for epoxy-functionalized cellulose with excess amine is studied. ⸠Both isothermal and dynamic DSC data are analyzed. ⸠The heterogenous reaction is found to be first order autocatalytic. ⸠The activation energy is found to be higher than that for the homogeneous reaction. ⸠The higher Ea is attributed to steric effects caused by immobilization of the epoxide groups.
