Abstract
The authors develop a framework to assess strategies for optimally shifting peak load consumption using distributed storage systems. Risk management is achieved by optimal investment in storage systems and peak load shifting under stochastic electricity prices. The economic feasibility of storage systems on the end-user side is evaluated based on the optimized benefits.
