Roll press compaction of corn stover and perennial grasses to increase bulk density

► Corn stover and perennial grasses were densified using a roll press compactor. ► Particles from tub-grinder screen sizes of 25.4-127.0 mm were compacted. ► Bulk density of compacted materials (i.e., compacts) ranged from 263 kg m−3 to 365 kg m−3. ► Durability (tumbling test) of compacts ranged from 61% to 92%. ► Roll press could produce bulk biomass products for efficient truck transport.
