Abstract
⺠In Malaysia, palm oil industries contribute huge quantities of biomass residues. ⺠Oil palm biomass has tremendous potential as feedstocks for bioplastic production. ⺠The utilization oil palm biomass for polymer production would be more cost-effective. âºÂ Thus, PHA production can be more competitive and sustainable. ⺠The advantages and challenges for commercialization of PHA are also discussed.
