Abstract
As community-based organizations, POUs are well positioned to engage customers and implement Smart Grid applications at an opportune time for their own communities. As the cost of implementation declines and customer value propositions become more apparent in the coming years, POUs could position themselves to take advantage of such applications in the future by pursuing small-scale pilot projects now, with flexible options built into the pilots for possible expansion in the future.
