Abstract
The familiar power delivery paradigm is in need of revision. The autonomously controlled assets of local systems, or microgrids, can provide multiple levels of power quality and reliability, customizing the power delivered to requirements. This in turn can free up the legacy grid to operate at a level of power quality and reliability better suited to our current societal goals.
