Abstract
The Environmental Protection Agency's proposed rules limiting carbon dioxide emissions from new and existing fossil fuel power plants will leave natural gas as the preferred way to fuel the U.S. power sector, which is not without its challenges. Nor does it spell the end for coal, which is projected to continue to produce 30 percent of U.S. demand for energy in 2030.
