Abstract

- Production of ABE was significantly improved by organosolv pretreatment.
- The pretreatment resulted in 60% lignin removal.
- After pretreatment, more than 311 g sugar was produced from each kg of rice straw.
- More than 80 g butanol and 21 g acetone were produced from each kg of rice straw.
