Abstract
- Lipid removed microalgal residue (LRμAR) contains heating value of 20.7 MJ kgâ1.
- Soluble content of LRμAR was increased up to 82% through pretreatments.
- Pretreatment was improved volatile fatty acid production up to 30% from LRμAR.
- Pretreated LRμAR was enhanced methane production up to 40% and gained 6.6 MJ kgâ1.
- Ultimately, renewable energy from LRμAR makes algal biodiesel sustainable.
