Abstract
- Species were screened and evaluated outdoors using tap water.
- A new two-stage process was used for S. obtusus XJ-15 to enhance lipid productivity.
- Fast cell growth in stage I and lipid induction in stage II were optimized independently.
- Higher lipid productivity (60.7 mg Lâ1 dâ1) and better biodiesel quality were obtained.
- Photoautotrophic two-stage process was realized in an outdoor large-scale culture.
