Abstract
- Pretreatment of pine needle was optimized by ANN for yield of polyphenol and sugar.
- 6Â ml (0.5% NaOH)/g of substrate, 10Â min soaking, 1Â min microwave were optimal.
- Cocktail of enzymes yielded 669Â mg/g of sugar and 265Â mg/g of polyphenols.
- This work is of own kind where ANN was used for optimization of extraction of phythochemicals and sugars.
- Pine wastes can be used in the biorefinery system to get various value added products.
