Abstract
												- EPS contains about 6.6-10.5% of the phosphorus in the EBPR sludge.
- The SEM-EDS analysis shows that plenty of EPS gel wrapped the cell clusters.
- Ortho-, pyro- and polyphosphate are detected in EPS by 31P NMR spectroscopy.
- CER method is suitable to extract extracellular phosphorus from EBPR sludge.
