Abstract
⺠A lignolytic micromycete fungus Myrothecium roridum LG7 was isolated from decaying wood. ⺠The isolate showed very low cellulase activity along with high lignolytic activity. ⺠Biological pretreatment of paddy straw and Parthenium sp. with LG7 helped in enhanced saccharification. ⺠Structural analysis revealed that LG7 delignify the biomass without consuming cellulose resulting in higher sugar yield.
