Abstract
► Bioethanol production from soft drink wastewater is technically feasible. ► Alcoholic fermentation was mediated by yeasts of the Saccharomyces genus. ► Addition of nutrients significantly reduces the fermentation time. ► Ethanol yields were close to theoretical values for this type of fermentation.
