Abstract
► S. oneidensis MR-1 could decolorize the dye mixture under anaerobic condition. ► The redox potential of dyes could not determine the order of decolorization. ► Addition of electron shuttles could accelerate the decolorization of dye mixture. ► Mtr respiratory pathway was responsible for the decolorization of dye mixture. ► Anaerobic decolorization depends on the electricity production of exoelectrogens.
