Abstract
⺠Cell recycling significantly reduces costs associated with inoculum preparation. ⺠Two-phase separation enabled cell recycling fermentation of lignocellulose. ⺠Cell-surface engineering successfully improved ethanol yield. ⺠Ethanol yield through the repeated batch fermentation was 86.3% of theoretical.
