Abstract
► Efficient biocompatible extraction of β-carotene from Dunaliella salina is achieved. ► Centrifugal partition extraction intensifies cells to solvent mass transfer. ► 65% extraction yield is reached using ethyl oleate-5% dichloromethane as solvent. ► 65% of cells are viable and sustainable growth is obtained after CH2Cl2 evaporation. ► Photobioreactor and centrifugal partition extraction are coupled for processing.
