Abstract
⺠Aeration increased the efficiency of ethanol production by Pichia stipitis. ⺠An adequate level of aeration led to better xylose utilization on model substrates. ⺠Ozonized wheat straw hydrolysates were effectively fermented by Pichia stipitis. ⺠Oxygen supply in ozonized hydrolysates reduced fermentation time. ⺠Aeration increased ethanol production in ozonized wheat straw hydrolysates.
