Abstract
► Dry anaerobic digestion of food waste was investigated under mesophilic conditions. ► Stable operation was achieved by HRT control without the addition of alkali agents. ► Microbial community was investigated by 454 pyrosequencing technique. ► Significant microbial shift was observed after acclimation in the dry AD condition. ► Most sequences showed high similarity to Methanosarcina thermophila DSM 1825T.
