Abstract
⺠Production of valuable products (ethanol, carotenoids, ergosterol) has been studied. ⺠Plant wastes (wheat straw hydrolysate and filter cake) were used as carbon sources. ⺠Ethanol production efficiency of 65-66% was obtained in S. cerevisiae cells. ⺠Red yeast Sporobolomyces roseus exhibited the highest pigment and ergosterol yield. ⺠Potential production of enriched red yeast biomass for feed industry was studied.
