Abstract
► Effects of storage methods on biomass conversion were first systematically studied. ► Sugar yield for wet stored biomass was higher compared with dry stored biomass. ► Shredding reduced sugar conversion, but increased sugar yield. ► Material balance was established for evaluating the conversion of corn stover biomass. ► Mechanistic model for the effects of storages on biomass conversion were proposed.
