Abstract
⺠The study shows the impact of steam explosion on the hydrolysis of cellulose fiber. ⺠The steam explosion treatment affected the physicochemical properties of cellulose. ⺠The links between crystallinity, water retention and hydrolysis were established. ⺠For high treatment intensities, thermal degradation impacts the hydrolysis rate.
